Make it a weekend in Atlanta
Local, game-day tested — near Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field.
Eat before
- Antico Pizza Napoletana· Home Park, ~0.5 mi northwest of the stadium
The original wood-fired Neapolitan joint locals swear by — grab a slice off the communal tables and walk to the game, but get there early because the line stacks up fast on Saturdays.
- Ecco Midtown· Midtown, ~1 mi east
A true Atlanta institution since it took Esquire's Best New Restaurant honors — book a table for the hearth-fired pizzas and charcuterie if you want a proper sit-down before kickoff.
- The Vortex Bar & Grill (Midtown)· Midtown, ~1.2 mi east
Walk through the giant skull, order a burger and a mountain of tots, and soak up the delightfully irreverent Atlanta character before you head to your seat.
After the game
- Northside Tavern· Westside on Howell Mill Rd, ~10 min drive
A gloriously gritty blues dive that's been an Atlanta legend since 1972 — go for the live music seven nights a week and cheap cold beer once the crowds clear out.
Getting in
- Know Your Gate + early arrival· Stadium gates 1-10
Enter at the gate assigned to your section and get in early — you'll want to be seated for the Georgia Tech Marching Band's pregame show, which is a whole thing here.
- Prepay parking via ParkMobile / Centergy Deck· On and around campus
Buy your deck spot in advance through ParkMobile for the lowest price and no gameday scramble — the Centergy Deck's top floor even overlooks the field and it's about an 8-minute walk in.
- Tailgate rules on campus· Georgia Tech lots and decks
Tailgating is allowed on campus, but grills are never permitted inside the parking decks and garages — set up in the open lots if you're firing one up.
Don't miss
- The Varsity· North Ave, right across the Downtown Connector
Open since 1928 and still the unofficial gameday ritual — walk up and holler 'What'll ya have?' for a chili dog and onion rings the way Tech fans have for nearly a century.
- Ramblin' Wreck + band pregame tradition· Inside Bobby Dodd Stadium
Don't be late — the 1930 Ford Model A 'Ramblin' Wreck' leads the team out and the marching band's pregame is pure Georgia Tech, so soak it in from your seat.
