Before the event

Get there ready to enjoy it.

At the speedway

Treat arrival as part of the day

The track recommends arriving four to five hours before the race. Use the extra time for the FanZone instead of spending the opening laps finding your seat.

Inside the speedway

Get closer in the Garage Experience

See the teams preparing their cars, then take a break at BIG BILL’S. This is a separate pass, and you still need the corresponding grandstand ticket or infield admission. Leave your cooler outside this area.

After the event

Keep the good part going.

Let the first wave leave

The track suggests waiting 30–45 minutes after the race before heading out. Follow directed exit routes; an immediate getaway can take more than an hour.

Make the most of arriving early.

Speedway campgrounds

Pick the campground, then pack

West Park A accepts tents and RVs, but campsite dimensions, passes, and vehicle rules still apply. Choose your specific campground before planning the night before the race; one camping setup does not fit every area.

Where to stay

Pick a base that fits where you’re coming from—and the trip home. Compare the full journey to Talladega Superspeedway, including your return after the event.

Explore hotels on the map

Use the Stayker map to explore hotel locations around Talladega Superspeedway. The area searches below also cover bases farther from the venue.

Arriving from the west

Birmingham

Make Birmingham your base if it fits your drive in, or if you want to spend the rest of the weekend in the city. Compare downtown with the east side of the metro before choosing a hotel.

Keep in mind: You will still need a plan for the drive to the track and the return after the race. Check the route from the actual hotel, not just its Birmingham address.

Arriving from the north

Gadsden / Attalla

Look at Gadsden and Attalla if you are coming down from the north. The area has hotels in downtown Gadsden and around the I-59 exits, giving you a different approach to the track from Birmingham.

Keep in mind: Compare the hotel-to-track route with your journey home. A hotel by an interstate exit is not necessarily the shortest drive to the race.

A closer base east of the track

Oxford / Anniston

Compare Oxford and Anniston if you would rather base yourself nearer the track than in Atlanta or Birmingham. Oxford has a cluster of hotels along the interstate, while Anniston gives you another place to spend the rest of the weekend.

Keep in mind: The hotel search starts around Oxford. Check the individual property, cancellation terms, and your event dates before booking; proximity does not guarantee a quick exit after the race.

Arriving via Atlanta or from the south

South Atlanta / airport area

College Park and the airport area can work if you are flying into Atlanta or already stopping south of the city. Fans coming up I-75 can also compare Stockbridge and McDonough as an overnight stop before continuing toward Talladega.

Keep in mind: This is a longer race-day drive, not a near-track stay. Atlanta is on Eastern Time and Talladega is on Central Time. Plan both the early departure and the return before choosing this base.

Getting to the venue

Rally: let someone else handle the drive

Rally is crowd-powered transportation: fans heading to the same race share a bus from a selected Rally Point to Talladega and back. Ride with other fans and let someone else handle the driving and parking.

Choose your race on Rally, then check the pickup point, trip confirmation, and return details. Some trips need enough riders to be confirmed. Do not assume pickup at your hotel or service from every stay area; check the actual trip before booking around it.
